Economists talked about the impact of immigration on wages in the U.S., focusing on the pay of low-skilled workers. The researchers presented data showing that contrary to some political rhetoric, immigration to the U.S. tended to exert upward pressure on wages for native-born Americans, particularly those in lower skilled jobs. Following the panel discussion, the panelists responded to question from the audience. The program began with introductory remarks from Alex Nowrasteh.
