Congressional members joined with the mayor of Elizabeth, New Jersey, at a fire house to announce federal grant money that would help bolster the number of first-responders in the area. A Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant awarded was awarded to the Eizabeth, New Jersey, Fire Department. They talked about the importance of first-responders, which was emphasized by the arrest of an Elizabeth resident in that weekend’s terrorist bombings in New York and New Jersey. close
