More than 300 members of the United Kingdom’s youth parliament, ages 11 to 18, gathered in the British House of Commons for their annual debate of five topics being considered for their national campaign. During this part of the debate, youth parliament members debated tackling racism and religious discrimination in the U.K. and around the world. Several members shared personal experiences of discrimination and emphasized that it was not enough to “make legislation and then lean back.” Many youth members said this campaign was of great importance symbolically and in a time of so much tension worldwide. close
