Georgetown University Law Center hosted a panel discussion focusing on gun violence, public health, and the Second Amendment. Speakers included gun violence prevention advocates, constitutional scholars, and public health experts. In addition, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student Dara Jaffe provided a first hand account of the mass shooting that killed 17 people at her school in Parkland, Florida.

This event was held two days after the student-led “March for Our Lives” rally held in Washington, D.C., an organized protest led by Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students in response to the February 14, 2018, shooting at their Parkland, Florida, school as well as other school shootings since the 1999 high school shooting in Columbine, Colorado. close
