The Coalition for Sensible Safeguards hosted a symposium about the effects of the Trump administration’s deregulatory efforts. Following keynote remarks delivered by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), two panel discussions addressed several issues. The first panel comprised legal scholars, a former Obama administration Labor Department official, and a former 30-year EPA official. They discussed what they generally agreed were the harmful effects of the Trump administration’s deregulation push across all federal agencies. The second panel featured three women who told personal stories about negative, and in some cases fatal, experiences they said could have been prevented by appropriate regulations. The symposium closed with remarks from Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh (D) who spoke about ongoing and pending litigation against the Trump administration, led by attorneys general from predominantly Democratic states like his including New York and California. close
