Georgetown University hosted several panel discussions marking the 50th anniversary of the civil rights movements in Northern Ireland and the shared experiences found in the parallel movement happening during the 1960s in the United States. During the closing panel, Ireland’s ambassador to the U.S. joined several Northern Ireland civil rights activists and others to discuss the legacy of the movement and how the U.K.'s exit from the European Union (also known as "Brexit") will affect the current civil rights movement in the region. close
