House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) spoke to reporters in the Capitol following a meeting with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on additional coronavirus relief legislation. Among other provisions in the proposal, the Democratic leaders took issue with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) insistence that the bill include broad liability protections for corporations. Speaker Pelosi said she did not believe that Senator McConnell was serious about getting a deal made. However, she said negotiations would continue the following day. close
