Jim Justice (R) held a virtual briefing on the state’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. The governor provided an update on the total cases, hospitalizations and deaths in the state, which he said continued to show signs of improvement. He said the total number of active cases had declined for 16 straight days and the state had its lowest hospitalization numbers since Thanksgiving. Gov. Justice said he had not seen the details of the additional federal stimulus proposals, but between the Senate Republicans' $600 billion proposal and the White House’s $1.9 trillion proposal, he favored the larger plan. “I don’t think that America can go wrong being too high,” he said. “I think, today, America’s got to go to the higher number.”
