Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards (D) held a briefing from Tangipahoa Parish on the state and federal response to Hurricane Ida. The governor announced that the “current confirmed death total” was at nine people. He also reminded people to use caution, as most hurricane-related deaths occur after the storms, often from drowning or carbon monoxide poisoning.
