President Biden spoke with reporters while visiting the Shanksville, Pennsylvania, volunteer fire department on the 20th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The president praised the United flight 93 passengers and crew for their heroism, and he spoke about the need for unity in the country, pointing to President Bush’s remarks at the Flight 93 Memorial earlier in the day. He also discussed China, his economic plan, and the War in Afghanistan, which ensued after the 9/11 attacks. He defended his decision to end the 20-year war, as well as the withdrawal from the country. close
