The Senate confirmed Susan Grundmann to be a member of the Federal Labor Relations Authority, and Jerome Powell tp serve as chair of the Federal Reserve Board for a second term. Members also voted to discharge from committee Mary Boyle’s nomination to be a commission on the Consumer Product Safety Commission., with Vice President Kamala Harris casting the tiebreaking vote. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) asked unanimous consent for the Senate to vote on the House-approved $40 billion Ukraine aid, but he was blocked by Senator Rand Paul (R-KY). The Senate was expected to vote on final passage of the bill the following week. close
