White House COVID-19 Response Team Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha said if the Food and Drug Administration authorizes COVID-19 vaccines for children younger than five at an upcoming meeting, vaccinations could begin as early as June 21, 2022. Dr. Jha made the announcement as he briefed reporters at the White House. He acknowledged parents' frustration with the slow timeline for getting FDA authorization for this age group but stressed the importance of getting things right.
