Administrator Nolen explained what went wrong saying, “Contract personnel unintentionally deleted files while working to correct synchronization issues ... We have found no evidence of a cyber attack or other malicious intent.” He also discussed FAA modernization efforts to prevent similar incidents in the future, such as new procedures in the NOTAM pilot-alert system.
