President Biden said the 336,000 jobs added and a steady unemployment rate of 3.8 percent clocked in the Labor Department’s September 2023 jobs report was a boost to American families and showed businesses continued to grow. His remarks in the White House’s Roosevelt Room also came on National Manufacturing Day. President Biden also answered a few questions from reporters, including one on potential replacements for Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) after he was ousted as speaker of the House. President Biden didn’t comment on any specific candidate, but said he would try and work with any future Speaker. close
