Closing Arguments in Fulton DA Fani Willis Misconduct Allegations Evidentiary Hearing, Part 1

Fulton County, Georgia, Superior Court heard closing arguments in regard to misconduct allegations against District Attorney Fani Willis, the lead prosecutor in Georgia’s election interference case against former President Trump. Attorneys representing Donald Trump and his co-defendants alleged that Ms. Willis' past romantic relationship with a subordinate in the case against Mr. Trump, Nathan Wade, created a conflict of interest and that Ms. Willis should therefore be disqualified from the case. The attorney representing Ms. Willis, Adam Abbate, argued that the allegations against her did not meet the burden of proof, and that the mere appearance of impropriety was not a sufficient reason for disqualification. Judge Scott McAfee announced that he would make a decision regarding DA Willis within two weeks.
