Ms. Stewart then spoke about Russia recently vetoing a United Nations Security Council resolution that called on countries to not deploy nuclear weapons in space--a provision already stated in the 1967 Outer Space Treaty. The resolution was sponsored by the U.S. and Japan; 13 countries voted for it, and China abstained. The Center for Strategic and International Studies hosted this fireside chat.
