Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Dupree talked about current headlines, including the congressional votes on budget reconciliation. In the newspaper roundtable, Representatives Barrett and Tauzin reviewed current news stories, including more on the budget debate. In the point-counterpoint, Mr. Jahshan and Mr. Isaacson debated whether the U.S. should move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Mr. Klein also joined the discussion by telephone.
