Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau slammed the Trump Administration's decision to impose tariffs on Canadian imported steel and aluminum during a closing news conference at the G-7 Summit in Quebec, Canada today. Trudeau described the tariffs as "illegitimate and unacceptable" and stated Canada will move forward with equivalent retaliatory tariffs as of July 1. Trudeau went on to say that President Trump informed him retaliatory tariffs by the Canadian government would be a mistake, and harm U.S. workers, but Trudeau defended the proposed tariffs. stating it's his job to look out for the interest of Canadian workers and Canadian interests, before those of the United States. close
