Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ) has told colleagues on the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Judge Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court that he plans to release a confidential email from Judge Kavanaugh's time in government as an exercise in "civil disobedience" to protest the committee's handling of his documents. His decision brought an immediate response from Texas Republican John Cornyn, who said, "Running for president is no excuse for violating the rules of the Senate or the confidentiality or the documents we are privy to." Senator Cornyn went further, calling Senator Booker's actions "unbecoming a senator." close
