Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown criticizes Republican colleagues for not speaking out against President Trump over his handling of the protests and the administration's decision to forcibly remove peaceful protesters in Lafayette Park so that the President could walk over to Saint John's Episcopal Church and pose for photographs before returning to the White House. "The President turned the arm of the state on peaceful protesters. We saw the video, tear-gassing the citizens he is supposed to serve, all so he would walk across the street and stage a photo-op at a church he doesn't attend and hold up a Bible he doesn't read," Senator Brown goes on to say: "You choose the adjective. Timid, cowardly, spineless. Republican colleagues in this Senate just remained silent. How offended they would have been if a Democratic president had done what this president does and failed to do." close
