CENTCOM Commander General Kenneth McKenzie, who is due to step down shortly form his post, says he believes Iran poses the greatest threat to Middle East regional security and stability, saying "they continue to furnish weapons, support and direction to proxies across the region who engage in acts of terror and undermine local governments all advancing Iranian interests." He says Iran's ballistic missile threat also continues to advance and expand with greater ranges and accuracies. However,, he says regional partners also recognize this threat and that does provide some opportunities for the U.S. to advance regional cooperation in the area of air defense. close
