Treasury Secretary Calls China's Position on Russian Invasion of Ukraine "Shortsighted"

During a speech at the Atlantic Council Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen calls out countries, including China, for their "shortsighted" stance they have taken on Russia's invasion of Ukraine. "The future of of our international order both for peaceful security and economic prosperity is at stake. And this is an order that benefits us all. And let's be clear, the unified coalition of sanctioning countries will not be indifferent to actions that undermine the sanctions we've put in place," Secretary Yellen says. She goes on to call on China to use its recently announced "special relationship" with Russia to help end the war. close
