President Obama spoke at the NAACP annual convention. He addressed the criminal justice system and called for shorter sentences for non-violent drug offenders. The president noted that in the last few decades the U.S. had locked up more non-violent drug offenders, pointing out that African Americans and Latinos had been disproportionately affected. Presidential Candidates Debate

In their second presidential debate Donald Trump (R) and Hillary Clinton (D) took questions from the audience members in a town hall style match up held at Washington University in St. Louis. The first question from moderators Anderson Cooper of CNN and Martha Raddatz of ABC was the 2005 videotape of Donald Trump talking off camera with then Access Hollywood host Billy Bush. Mr. Trump apologized for the comments calling it “locker room talk.” Mrs. Clinton said the remarks called into question his fitness to serve as president.

The last presidential debate takes place in Nevada on October 19th.
