Julio Borges, the former president of the Venezuelan National Assembly, was the featured speaker at a discussion on the political situation in his country. Mr. Borges talked about efforts within Venezuela to suppress opposition to the government of President Nicolás Maduro, and about the regional politics that have complicated the Venezuelan political and economic crisis. Following his remarks, Mr. Borges and a former Obama administration official took questions from the audience, which included a number of Venezuelan political operatives. close
