Former New York City high school teacher Steve Mariotti talked about teaching entrepreneurship to inner city youth in America. He talked about his problems controlling unruly students and his strategy of using real life examples to interest and teach at risk children how to run a small business. He included a few graphics slides. He also showed a movie trailer for the documentary film, Ten9Eight: Shoot the Moon, about some of the teenagers competing in the annual business plan competition held by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship. Then Rodney Walker, one of the students featured in the film, talked about the experience.

Steve Mariotti is the founder of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship. He is the author of several book about entrepreneurship including The Young Entrepreneur’s Guide to Starting and Running a Business.
