George Elsey Oral History Interview, Part 2 George Elsey talked about highlights of his public service career, which began with his World War II assignment to the White House Map Room"President Roosevelt’s intelligence and communications center. Mr. Elsey went on to work for President Truman and returned to government service at the end of Lyndon B. Johnson’s presidency. Topics included one of his encounters with British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and World War II experiences.
