A special task force created to investigate the Japanese nuclear disaster presented its findings to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). It included recommendations for improving backup power systems at nuclear plants. NRC Chairman Gregory Jaczko called on his agency to complete consideration of new safety recommendations within 90 days. He also said the industry would have five years to implement any new regulations that resulted from that process. close
