The students debated five topics that would be considered for their national campaign. In this portion, the students discussed raising the minimum wage to a living wage. Some argued that it was only fair; whereas others believed that it would only give a temporary solution while stifling the growth of the economy. Topics included the effects of living wage policy on youth unemployment and poverty. Speaker of the House John Bercow presided, with a few remarks by other members of Parliament.
