Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) recounted an emotional story from an emergency room doctor on the night of the Pulse nightclub shooting, which occurred on June 12, 2016, when a mass shooter opened fire on the establishment in Orlando, Florida. Senator Nelson showed a picture of the doctor’s bloody shoes. This was part of the nearly 15 hours that Senator Christopher Murphy (D-CT) controlled the floor for a Senate debate on gun violence and the need for gun laws in response to the shooting. close
