State officials from New Mexico and Utah, a law professor, and the acting assistant Interior Department secretary testified at a hearing on oil and gas development access on federal lands. One of the witnesses , acting assistant Interior Department secretary Katherine MacGregor, spoke about the Trump administration’s approach to the process, which she said includes “restoring balance” to the use of federal lands and the nation’s energy options.
