The Senate Armed Services Committee held a confirmation hearing for President Trump’s nominee to head the U.S. Cyber Command and National Security Agency, Lieutenant General Paul Nakasone. The committee also considered several Energy Department nominations including Brent Park to be deputy administrator for defense nuclear nonproliferation and Anne Marie White to be assistant energy secretary for environmental management. The hearing focused primarily on the U.S. response to Russian cyberattacks, combating nuclear proliferation, and the management of nuclear waste. close
