“I’m pretty much an unapologetic liberal,” said Representative John Yarmuth (D-KY) as he spoke with C-SPAN to reflect on his life and career in politics. The representative, who was retiring from Congress after 16 years in the U.S. House, said that even though he was not ready to leave, he knew he did not want to stay in office for another two years. He reflected on his time as chair of the House Budget Committee, his work on the American Rescue Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and his support of the Jewish community. When asked about the “F” pin he wears on his lapel, Representative Yarmouth said it represents his rating from the National Rifle Association, which he “proudly wears.” close
