Governors Kristi Noem (R-SD) and Mark Gordon (R-WY) testified before the House Natural Resources Committee on the impact of a proposed rule related to conservation and landscape health designated by the Bureau of Land Management. The governors addressed states' rights concerns over land use, forest management, and the economic impact to small businesses and rural communities. Also testifying was the Bureau of Land Management Principal Deputy Director Nada Wolff Culver, who addressed the details of the proposed rule and said it would provide balance to existing land use rules, giving conservation and restoration equal consideration along with other activities, such as grazing and mining. close
