“It is an honor to welcome Col. Ralph Puckett Jr. to the Capitol,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) during remarks at the Capitol where the late Korean War veteran was lying in honor. Others in attendance included Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN). Col. Puckett, who received the Medal of Honor from President Biden in 2021, passed away at the age of 97 on April 8, 2024, at his home in Columbus, Georgia. close
