The Battle of Okinawa was the last major battle of World War II. Authors Saul David and Rana Mitter recounted the events leading up to the battle and the role it played in ending the war. They also discussed China’s conflict with Japan before World War II, and how it impacted China’s future. They were joined by historian Richard Frank, author of Tower of Skulls: A History of the Asia-Pacific War, July 1937-May 1942. This discussion was part of an annual conference hosted by the National World War II Museum, which provided the video. close
