President Clinton welcomed Prime Minister Rabin of Israel and King Hussein of Jordan to the White House Rose Garden for the signing of the Washington Declaration. Addressing the two leaders, the president stated, “You give us great hope that this house, our people’s house, will be a constant witness to a lasting peace that spreads forth to to embrace your region.” The president, King Hussein, and Prime Minister Rabin stood on a platform outside the rear entrance to the White House for their remarks. close
