U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon addressed world leaders for the final time at the opening session of the U.N. General Assembly in New York City. He called on political leaders to not engage in rhetoric or cynicism when it comes to solving the world’s problems and listed a host of threats, including fighting in Yemen, Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. Secretary Ban condemned recent attacks in Syria on a humanitarian aid convoy which resulted in the suspension of U.N. services to the region. General Assembly President Peter Thomson also delivered remarks. close
