Senators continued to debate a voting rights bill ahead of a vote to advance the legislation. One of the speakers included Arkansas Republican Tom Cotton, who referenced a 2017 letter in support of maintaining the ability for extended debate in the Senate that was signed by 28 sitting Democrats. Some of those same senators responded to Senator Cotton by explaining how their position now is not different from 2017. close
